Contractor Reviews
"Great place and people to work for!"
Very fun and enjoyable place to work, very flexible to needs, sets you up for success, cares about employees. Incredible management! Wish I would've been able to stay! Would definitely go back if ever back in FL
"You are an independent contractor. You can set your own schedule."
Great place to work for independent contractors. You set your hours and days you want to work and they schedule you cleaning jobs. If you are a great cleaner you will earn recurring clients. I found it very easy to get a full month of work and make great money. This company has great communication and is willing to work with you. They are willing to listen to your input and make changes if necessary.
Subcontractor Trial and $50 Background-Check Deposit Agreement
Version 2026-10-09-v5. Review the written agreement before payment.
Amount and purpose
Affordable Cleaning Today LLC (ACT) collects a $50 refundable deposit that covers the background check. This is an immediate card charge. There is no additional background-check or onboarding charge. Under the specific missed-appointment conditions below, the deposit may also be applied toward documented direct losses ACT incurs from an accepted appointment being left unstaffed. It is not an automatic $50 no-show fee.
Trial standards and deposit return
The trial lasts two weeks. Cleaning ability, communication, team interaction and following accepted assignment instructions are evaluated for continued assignments. Those evaluations, a client complaint or ACT deciding not to continue the relationship do not independently authorize a deposit deduction. The deposit return depends only on the objective missed-appointment and documented-loss conditions in this agreement.
Payment timing
The deposit return is included with your subcontractor payment at the end of your first pay period, even if the full two-week trial has not yet ended. Pay periods end on the 15th and the last day of each month. Payment for trial cleaning services is made at the end of the applicable pay period. If you withdraw or ACT ends the application or trial before any paid work, ACT returns the deposit, less only a deduction permitted below, by the end of the pay period in which the process ends. Once returned, this deposit cannot be charged again for a later missed appointment.
Accepted appointments and notice
Subcontractor retains full discretion to accept or reject any offered cleaning assignment. However, once Subcontractor accepts a specific assignment, they commit to completing it at the client-specified time (typically between 10 AM and 2 PM Eastern Time). If Subcontractor is unable to fulfill an already accepted assignment, they must notify ACT at least 48 hours in advance to allow time to secure a replacement contractor. If an assignment is accepted less than 48 hours before its start, or an unforeseen event prevents 48-hour notice, contact ACT as soon as you know you cannot fulfill it. If an emergency prevents contact, contact ACT as soon as reasonably possible. The notice requirement applies to already accepted assignments; it does not require advance permission to change general availability or decline an unaccepted offer. An accepted appointment is an onboarding or trial appointment whose date, start time and location you affirmatively agreed to by message or other recorded confirmation. A declined assignment, an unconfirmed offer or an appointment ACT or the customer cancels is not a missed accepted appointment. Use a call, text or email to contact the ACT office and keep the record; an unanswered call or undelivered message still counts as an attempt. A documented emergency that prevented timely contact is excluded from the deduction conditions.
Missed-appointment deduction conditions
ACT may review a deduction only if (1) you miss an accepted appointment and make no attempt to contact ACT at all on that appointment date, measured in Eastern time, or (2) you miss two or more accepted appointments before the deposit return without the timely contact described above. A single missed appointment with a same-day contact attempt does not meet condition (1). Timely cancellations, excused emergencies, performance ratings, complaints and ending the trial alone do not meet either condition. No payment is due for cleaning services not performed; payment owed for services actually performed remains payable in full.
Documented losses, cap and review
Meeting a missed-appointment condition does not automatically forfeit the deposit. ACT may deduct only reasonable, documented direct losses caused by the qualifying missed appointment or appointments, after reasonable efforts to reduce the loss, up to $50 total across this deposit. Examples are incremental replacement-cleaner costs or an actual customer refund caused by the unstaffed appointment. Deduct avoided costs and other recoveries; do not count the same loss twice. Customer inconvenience, estimated lost future business, reputation damage, ordinary overhead and subjective dissatisfaction are not deposit deductions. The background-check charge cannot be counted again as a missed-appointment loss. With no documented recoverable loss, the full $50 is returned. The full $50 can be retained only if documented lawful losses total at least $50. ACT provides the accepted appointment confirmation, contact records, itemized costs and deduction calculation in writing before retaining any amount, and returns the unused balance on the payment schedule above. Send corrections or supporting records to [email protected] with your deposit ID; ACT reviews them and provides a written explanation. This agreement caps ACT’s recovery for these missed-appointment losses at $50 and does not authorize an additional charge, collection claim or deduction from earned service pay for those same losses.
Separate background-check authorization
Paying this deposit or signing this agreement does not authorize a background check. Any required screening disclosure and written authorization are provided separately through the screening process. Applicable rights to notices, a copy of the report and an opportunity to dispute information are preserved. Screening rejection alone does not authorize retaining the deposit.
Accepted assignment quality
Subcontractor agrees to complete all accepted assignments to the quality standards outlined in the job order. Failure to meet these standards constitutes a breach of this agreement. ACT reserves the right to terminate this agreement immediately if Subcontractor repeatedly fails to meet contract specifications or fails to cure a reported deficiency. A reported deficiency must identify the unmet job-order specification and be substantiated by photographic documentation, inspection, or mutual agreement. ACT will communicate the deficiency and the required correction before relying on a failure to cure. The Subcontractor determines the manner and method of the corrective work, subject to the accepted scope and applicable safety requirements.
Inactive vendor profile
As an independent business, Subcontractor is under no obligation to accept a minimum number of assignments. However, for administrative purposes, if Subcontractor neither accepts any assignments nor communicates with the ACT office for a period of five (5) consecutive business days, ACT may classify the Subcontractor’s vendor profile as inactive and close the agreement. Accepting an assignment or communicating with the ACT office interrupts the inactivity period. Administrative closure does not cancel payment owed for services performed or eligible mileage earned, change the accepted deposit-refund terms, or authorize deleting retained service and payment records.
Florida law and agreement records
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida in effect when applicable. Deductions compensate documented lawful losses and are subject to applicable Florida law; this agreement does not establish that every retention is enforceable or waive statutory rights. Either party may end the trial without advance notice; the accepted-assignment notice requirements above still apply when ending the trial affects an appointment you already accepted. Review this agreement before payment. Your affirmative acceptance and typed signature record your agreement to this version. ACT retains the accepted text, version, acceptance time and payment reference. Later policy changes do not replace the agreement you accepted. Contact [email protected] with your deposit ID for assistance.
